KAMLOOPS - The Kamloops RCMP's forensic identification unit is trying to recover fingerprints from a stolen vehicle found in Kamloops.

RCMP say an officer observed a vehicle stolen out of Revelstoke travelling on the Trans-Canada Highway coming into Kamloops Sunday evening, March 25.

The officer attempted a traffic stop but the vehicle fled, and the member did not pursue, according to an RCMP media release.

At approximately 9:30 p.m., officers received a call from a home on Battle Street West that an unknown vehicle was left parked in their driveway.

"It was the stolen vehicle," Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says the release. "We set up a perimeter in hopes of finding the suspect or suspects but no one was located."

The vehicle is now being processed by the identification unit for fingerprints.

If you have any information on this incident, you're asked to call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
