Warmer temperatures, a glimpse of sun here and there, buds poking up from your flower garden — all signs that spring is almost here. Another sign of spring for many is the start of golf season in the Thompson Okanagan. If you're a golf enthusiast we've got some good news.
Read below to find out which courses are currently open and which will open soon.
Pocket Desert Regions
Skaha Meadows Golf Course is a rare Penticton gem, as they stay open year-round — weather permitting of course.
Penticton Golf & Country kicked off their season early on Feb. 27, shortly before the Osoyoos Golf Club opened on Feb. 28.
Thompson Region
Bighorn Golf & Country Club opened March 5, ahead of all other courses in the Kamloops region.
Eaglepoint Golf Resort and Kamloops Golf & Country Club have tentatively set their opening dates for sometime between March 20 and 27.
The Tobiano Golf Course is not far behind, looking to open March 23.
The Golf Course at Sun Peaks follows later in the season, with a scheduled opening date of May 15.
The Interior
Two Eagles Golf Course in Kelowna were at the head of the spring train for the region, opening March 1.
Other golf courses in the area will follow suit, including the Harvest Golf Club and Black Mountain Golf Club, both aiming to open for the end of March.
Gallagher’s Canyon Golf & Country Club and their Pinnacle Course will be opening April 1.
The Bear & The Quail, Okanagan Golf Club, Tower Ranch Golf & CC are all aiming to open April 10.
Remaining courses including Shannon Lake Golf Club, Kelowna Springs Golf Club, and Kelowna Golf & CC are expected to announce their 2020 golf course opening dates in the near future.
