BARRIERE, B.C. - A driver who seemed to be in a big hurry lost more than a few dollars with a speeding ticket near Darfield, B.C., when police found $61,140 in his car.
RCMP Cpl. Dan Moskaluk says the officer suspected drugs were involved in the incident north of Kamloops earlier this week.
The driver from Surrey was detained and a police dog was brought in to sniff out the situation.
Moskaluk says that when the vehicle was searched, a bag stuffed with neatly folded bills was found inside a suitcase in the trunk.
The 35-year-old man will make his first court appearance in Kamloops on April 11.
