Some sunshine forecast for the Okanagan this weekend

Snow tonight and tomorrow will be followed by clearing skies and below normal temperatures for the Okanagan this weekend, says Environment Canada.

OKANAGAN - Okanagan residents can look forward to a mostly sunny weekend following some snow tonight and tomorrow.

Environment Canada says the Okanagan will see clearing skies today, Feb. 21, with a high of around 0 Celsius. Clouds are expected to thicken overnight with a 60 per cent chance of flurries and a low of about -6 C.

The forecast calls for periods of snow tomorrow with a high of around 1 C. Vernon is expecting the most snow with five centimetres predicted, while two to four cm are expected in Kelowna and one cm in Penticton. More snow is a possibility overnight in the valley with a low of -3 C.

The weather office is calling for a mix of sun and cloud on Saturday with a high of 1 C and an overnight low of -8 C.

Much the same is expected Sunday with both sunshine and cloud, along with a high of 0 C and a low of -7 C.

Temperatures will dip again on Monday, with sunny skies and a high of -2 C predicted along with an overnight low of -10.

Normal temperatures at this time of year in the Okanagan are highs of about 3 C and lows around -4 C.
