KELOWNA – The top ten finalists from this year’s So You Think You Can Dance will be performing in Kelowna in January.
The show is part of a North America tour that features the best dancers from the twelfth season of the 13-time Emmy Award-winning show on Fox and CTV.
Judge, executive director and co-creator Nigel Lythgoe says in a release the new Stage vs. Street format has inspired choreographers to create remarkable dance numbers each week and this tour is Kelowna’s chance to see them perform live.
“I am thrilled with this season’s new Stage vs. Street format and the brilliant, fresh talent we have discovered,” he says. “I am excited for your favourite dancers to bring their inspiration and routines to even more cities on this year’s nationwide tour.”
The tour starts Oct. 13 in Grand Prairie and will be in Kelowna January 10 at Prospera Place.
Dancers include Team Stage’s Gaby Diaz, Edson Juarez, Jim Nowakowski, Hailee Payne and Derek Piquette. Representing Team Street will be Megan “Megz” Alfonso, Eddie “Neptune” Eskridge, Virgil Gadson, Jessica “JJ” Rabone and Jana “Jaja” Vankova.
The official tour schedule is available at this website. Tickets go on sale Friday, Aug. 28.
