A snowfall warning has been issued for the Coquihalla Highway between Hope and Merritt.

Environment Canada says an approaching low pressure system is expected to dump 20 to 30 centimetres of snow on the Coquihalla Summit starting tomorrow morning, Feb. 7, then spreading to Kootenay Pass tomorrow afternoon.

The snow is expected to intensify tomorrow night before tapering to a few flurries early Saturday morning.

Weather conditions can change suddenly, resulting in hazardous driving conditions, with reduced visibility during times of heavy snow, the warning states.

Road conditions can be monitored at the DriveBC website here.
