For those of you in Vernon, the SilverStar Mountain Resort is ready to welcome you to the slopes on Nov. 28, so long as the natural snow they rely on accumulates.

The resort plans to welcome ski bums, snowboard junkies, park lovers, and families with free donuts and hot chocolate at the gondola on opening day.

Chantelle Deacon of SilverStar Mountain Resort says they are expecting big crowds come opening day, and notes the continuous climb of season pass sales.

“Season pass sales are going great,” Deacon says. “Year after year we see more and more skiers and boarders choosing SilverStar as their ski resort of choice.”

This year the mountain resort is upgrading the terrain park to offer progressive features for new, beginner, and intermediate riders. The resort has also partnered with Sun Peaks Resort, Apex Mountain Resort and Mt. Seymour as part of a reciprocal season pass program. Season pass holders can now get two free days of skiing at the participating locations, with conditions.
