VERNON - Silver Star Mountain Resort is launching a new 10-day festival promising everyone, from skiers and snowboarders to foodies and music lovers, a great time.

The first ever Seismic Mountain Festival will be held at Silver Star Mountain Resort Mar. 22 to Mar. 31. According to a media release the festival will have something for the whole family and include well-known professional athletes, culinary skills from some of the provinces best chefs and plenty of live music.

Organizers say the festival will bring together people from the community involved in sport, business, art and culture to celebrate on the slopes before the winter ski season ends in early April.

"This is our first year putting on a festival of this size and so far the feedback we’ve received has been nothing but positive,” said director of sales and marketing Ian Jenkins in the media release. “There will be feature events that are perfect for the whole family, it’s a festival that’s really meant for everyone to enjoy."

The mountain says it will release more information over the next few weeks but that attendees can expect beer gardens and a firework show during the festival.
