SICAMOUS - A 56-year-old Sicamous man has been given a hefty fine for selling e-cigarettes to underage youth from his home.

RCMP say they worked with the Interior Health Authority to investigate a complaint that young people were buying e-cigarettes and vapour products known as E-juice from a Sicamous man.

"The Provincial Tobacco and Vapour Products Control Act makes it an offence to sell, offer for sale, provide or distribute tobacco or vapour products to anyone under the age of 19," Cpl. Dan Moskaluk says in a media release. "The investigation resulted in police identifiying a 56-year-old Sicamous man who was reported to be selling vapour products from his residence."

The Interior Health Authority was alerted, a tobacco enforcement officer was sent to investigate and the man was issued a $575 violation ticket on Dec. 9.
