Several Kamloops sports fields closed following rainy weather

KAMLOOPS - With the recent heavy rainfall and use over the long weekend, City of Kamloops Parks staff have inspected and assessed the condition of City fields and have determined that the soccer fields listed below will be closed as of this afternoon until further notice. The closure is necessary to ensure public safety, as well as to protect the turf from damage.

  • McArthur Island Park soccer fields
  • Singh Street Park soccer fields
  • West Highlands Park soccer fields

All other soccer fields and ball fields will be open for play today.

Staff will be inspecting fields Wednesday morning and will have updates on conditions before noon on Wednesday.

The artificial sports field at Hillside Stadium will remain open as well.
