OLIVER - Oliver RCMP are investigating another motorcycle collision near the community.

Oliver RCMP spokesperson Sgt. Blaine Gervais said in a press release officers attended a motorcycle collision on Saturday, June 15, at around 6:50 p.m. near Enterprise Way on Highway 97 north of Oliver.

A motorcyclist was travelling north on the highway when the operator lost control while entering a curve. The rider went through a barb wire fence before stopping off the road.

The motorcyclist was transported to Penticton Regional Hospital for treatment but succumbed to his injuries early Sunday morning.

The South Okanagan Traffic Services and the B.C. Coroners Service are assisting the police with the investigation.

The driver’s name is not being released by RCMP.

A collision involving two motorcycles occurred last week near Oliver, which also resulted in the death of one of the riders.
