OLIVER - A collision between two motorcycles collision on a South Okanagan road late last week resulted in the death of one of the riders.
Oliver RCMP say in a media release two motorcycles were travelling at high rates of speed heading east on Fairview Road in Oliver at around 9:40 p.m. Friday, June 7.
One of the motorcycle operators turned unexpectedly in front of the other, resulting in the collision.
A 44-year-old man riding one of the bikes was found unresponsive at the scene by emergency crews. He was transported to Oliver General Hospital where he was declared deceased.
The other driver, a 33-year-old man, was also transported to hospital where he was treated for road rash, sustaining no serious injuries.
South Okanagan District Traffic Analysts and the B.C. Coroners Service are investigating, RCMP say.
Charges may be forthcoming, following conclusion of the traffic analyst report.
RCMP are not releasing the identities of the man killed or the man injured in the crash.
