Search for driver in 2003 fatal hit and run in West Kelowna continues

It has been 16 years since a West Kelowna hit and run claimed the life of Perry Walsh.

On Nov. 10, 2003, Walsh, 39, was cycling when he was struck by a pickup truck at the intersection of Campbell Road and Highway 97. The truck involved was found at a residence in the Casa Loma area, but the driver has never been identified.

"This is still an open police file and it will remain open until the person responsible for Perry's death is held to account," said Crime Stoppers Central Okanagan. "There are people who have information on who the driver was. It must be weighing on them not to be able to tell the truth about what happened."

Crime Stoppers accepts anonymous tips either online at www.crimestoppers.net or by phone at 1-800-222-8477.

"The family of Perry Walsh deserves answers about the death of their son."
