A team of searchers is headed back to Sun Peaks this weekend to try again to locate Ryan Shtuka.

Kamloops RCMP, with a Southeast District tactical unit and Tk'emlups Rural RCMP, will search for Shtuka, who was 21 years old when he went missing on Feb. 17, 2018.

"The investigation hasn't stopped. We don't know what happened, and the file stays open until we do," Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Const. Crystal Evelyn said.

Search teams will review evidence and areas previously searched over the last three years, and they will expand their search to new areas around Sun Peaks Resort, Evelyn said.

Shtuka had left a party around Burfield Avenue on the night he disappeared.

The early hours of that morning was the last time he was seen.

He was reported missing when he didn't show up for work on Feb. 17, 2018.

Since that time, there have been multiple pleas to the public to locate Shtuka, and there was a podcast dedicate to his case.

But the search remains ongoing as his family awaits answers.
