OTTAWA - The Supreme Court of Canada will not hear an appeal from an Alberta man convicted in the 2005 sex murder of Nina Courtepatte in Edmonton.

Michael Briscoe was convicted of kidnapping, sexual assault and first-degree murder in the death of the teen.

Courtepatte was lured from West Edmonton Mall by a group of people on the pretext of going to a party.

She was taken to a golf course outside the city where she was sexually assaulted, stabbed and beaten to death.

Briscoe was acquitted at his first trial, but was ordered retried after appeals.

He was convicted at a second trial in 2012.
