Scant details released in alleged Cherryville kidnapping

Vernon Courthouse

CHERRYVILLE - Police are keeping mum on the details of an alleged kidnapping incident in Cherryville.

According to court records, criminal charges have been laid against two people in relation to the May 25 incident. They are Angela Kathleen Fisher, born in 1981, and Abd’l Malik Loubissi-Morris, born in 1997.

Both individuals are facing charges of kidnapping, using an imitation firearm, assault and uttering threats.

RCMP Cpl. Dan Moskaluk confirms there was an incident in the Cherryville area that resulted in charges, but is not releasing any further information.

One of the people charged, Loubissi-Morris, is also before the courts in relation to a February incident in which he allegedly drove a car into a pedestrian. Moskaluk would not comment on any possible connection between the two incidents.

None of the charges have been proven in court.
