KELOWNA - Sarah McLachlan won't let herself pass Kelowna by, preparing to stop for a night in the city during her Shine On tour this coming autumn.
Tickets to see the grammy award winning artist live at Prospera Place October 24 go on sale Friday, May 9 at 10 a.m. The show begins at 8 p.m. with doors opening at 7 p.m.
McLachlan is a multi-platinum Canadian singer-songwriter with albums selling more than 40 million worldwide, eight Junos and three Grammies. Two songs, "Building a Mystery" and "Last Dance" found on her 10-time platinum album, "Surfacing", each earned Grammies.
While McLachlan is known for founding the Lilith Fair tour showcasing female musicians and raising more than $7 million for local and national charities over three years, her current Shine On tour is a personal endeavour, featuring music from her latest album along with other hits she's famous for.
Shine On might be described as less melancholy than McLachlan's previous works, with upbeat tracks such as "In Your Shoes" and "The Sound that Love Makes". There's an infusion of modern folk in her album, but she also remains true to her roots with gently sung ballads such as "Broken Heart" and "Surrender and Certainty".
