Vernon RCMP are seeking witnesses to an assault that left a man with serious injuries earlier this month.

North Okanagan Vernon RCMP were alerted to a report of a man found injured on the road outside a residence in the 9800 block of Kalamalka Road in Coldstream, around 7 p.m. on Friday, May 21, according to an RCMP media release.

Investigation revealed the man’s injuries were the result of an assault. The man was transported to hospital for what were believed to be serious injuries.

"Evidence from the ongoing investigation suggests the assault, believed to be targeted, took place at approximately 7 p.m., on May 21, on or beside Kalamalka Road in the area of the 9800-block. To further the investigation and determine the circumstances that led to the victim’s injuries, we are turning to the public for their assistance,” police spokesperson Const. Chris Terleski said in the release.

Police are encouraging anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed anything to call police at 250-545-7171, quoting file number 2021-8661.
