Kamloops RCMP are releasing more information about a missing man in the hope someone has seen or knows something.

Jakob Gibbon, 22, left his home in the city's North Shore neighbourhood sometime between 11 p.m., Dec. 28, and 7:30 a.m., Dec. 29, in his white 2012 four-door Dodge Avenger, according to an RCMP media release issued today, Jan. 4.

His departure is out of character and his family has been unable to reach him.

“Since then, Jakob has also failed to attend work,” Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn in the release. “In addition to the photo released of Jakob on Dec. 30, we’re also sharing a stock image of a 2012 Dodge Avenger in hopes that someone will spot his vehicle and contact police as soon as possible.”

Police describe Gibbon as a Caucasian male, 5’10" tall, 122 lb. with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black Under Armour sweatshirt with a large white logo on the chest, dark blue denim jeans, grey running shoe, and possibly a hat.

His vehicle is a 2012 white four-door Dodge Avenger with B.C. license plate JM9 04E.

“If anyone does have information — maybe you’re a neighbour who saw him leave that morning, maybe you’re a friend or co-worker who exchanged texts with him recently — it’s so important that you share that information with police, even if you’ve already told his family or friends about it, to ensure it gets to investigators,” Cpl. Evelyn said.

If you have information related to this investigation and the whereabouts of Jakob or his white Dodge Avenger, contact Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2022-46092.
