RCMP investigating house fire in Lumby

A house caught fire in Lumby early this morning and police are investigating.

Firefighters from the BX Swan Lake, Lavington and Coldstream fire departments were called to the 2000-block of Mountain View Avenue around 2 a.m. this morning, according to a regional district doesn’t have a fire dept. but it is in charge of the fire depts press release.

There were 18 firefighters on the scene who battled the blaze for several hours and put it out.

The cause of the fire is unknown at the moment, but police are currently investigating.

The release did not say whether anyone was at home at the time of the fire nor if anyone was injured in the blaze.

RCMP were not immediately available to comment.
