Pauline Marois thinking of majority government come election day

PERCE, - The leader of the Parti Quebecois says she's gunning for a majority government when Quebecers go to the polls next month.

Pauline Marois dismissed questions today about the possibility of a PQ minority government.

Opinion polls are suggesting the PQ and the Liberals are involved in a tight race and that the Coalition for Quebec's Future is also in the mix.

Campaigning in eastern Quebec, Marois denied she has already lost momentum in the campaign leading to the Sept. 4 vote

Marois has been holding short news conferences so far and has generally avoided discussing remarks made by her rivals.

Francois Legault, leader of the Coalition for Quebec's Future, said today his government would reduce taxes on middle-income families by $1,000, in part by cancelling a health tax imposed by the Jean Charest government.
