KELOWNA - A prolific offender's bail hearing has been delayed a week as he continues to recover in hospital from injuries stemming from his arrest two weeks ago.
John Michael Aronson, born in 1988, was set to appear by video at the Kelowna court house on Feb. 7 for a bail hearing. According to court proceedings, Aronson was unable to appear, as he is recovering in hospital due to injuries sustained during an altercation with police on Jan. 23.
That's when police surrounded Aronson and arrested him in connection with a road rage incident earlier in the week. Aronson's counsel confirmed he was shot and was bitten by a dog during the arrest.
Aronson is charged with possession of a firearm contrary to order, flight from police, assault with a weapon, possessing weapon for a dangerous purpose, driving while disqualified, theft of motor vehicle, and dangerous operation of a conveyance. None of these charges have been proven in court.
Aronson is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 14.
