UPDATE: 'Unfolding incident' at Coldstream home resolved

Vernon North Okanagan RCMP set up a perimeter around a home in the 8500 block of Clerke Road in Coldstream this morning, Jan. 17.

The incident has now been resolved, according to an RCMP update at about 10 a.m.

There'll continue to be a police presence at the scene as they continue to investigate, RCMP said, and there's no known risk to the public.

Police originally said updates would be provided as they became available, but now say "there's no additional information for release at this time."

People had been asked to avoid the area so as not to interfere with officers trying to resolve what is only described as an “unfolding incident” in an RCMP news release issued earlier today.

“We are asking anyone in the area to not share the location or activities of our officers on social media as this may jeopardize the safety of everyone at the scene,” the earlier news release said.

 — This story was updated at 10:12 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2023, to say the incident had been resolved.
