KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP are on the hunt for a suspect after a man was mugged in broad daylight at Thompson Rivers University earlier this week.
Officers responded to a robbery at the TRU campus on Monday, March 11 at 2:40 p.m., according to an RCMP media release.
The victim told police he was walking near Wolfpack Road and College Drive when a male suspect approached him with a knife and demanded the his wallet.
Police say the victim handed over his wallet and the suspect fled on foot towards Summit Drive. The victim was not injured.
RCMP say a half hour later, the stolen wallet was found on campus and turned into security. Some cash was missing but all other items in the wallet were accounted for.
The suspect is a man in his mid-20s and 6'0" tall. He was wearing a grey hoodie, jeans and carrying a leather striped backpack.
