KELOWNA - The mother of a man missing for more than two and a half years can rest today knowing her son has been located and is safe and sound.
Phillip Lee Lyons who is now 39, was living in a half-way house when he disappeared while out on a day trip May 26, 2012. His mother was notified June 12, the same year. At the time, she says she wasn't too surprised by the news.
"I knew there was something wrong before that," Lyons' mom said. "Philip hadn't called for the last two weeks, as he called me almost every night between 5:30 and 7 (p.m.), as he knew I'd be watching my shows. There were days that he would call two or three times…."
But Mounties recently found Lyons, and his mother can rest knowing he's safe and sound. While he was still missing, she said even though her son had been in trouble most of his life and was wanted on a warrant for suspension of his parole, she just hoped he was ok.
