PENTICTON - Penticton RCMP are investigating a shooting in the city last night.

Police were called to a report of shots fired in a home on Government Street late last night, May 22, where they found a 30-year-old man suffering from a non life-threatening gunshot wound.

Const. James Grandy said in a press release the man was taken to hospital and police secured the home. Officers also detained several people who were in the residence at the time.

“This appears to be a targeted incident and investigators are actively working to determine what occurred,” Grandy said.

Several of the individuals involved are known to police, he said.

Police are asking anyone with information on the shooting to call the Penticton RCMP detachment at 250-492-4300 or Crime Stoppers.
