The RCMP were looking for a couple named Noel and Stephanie after coming upon a wedding band that was recovered in the Penticton river channel – and officers found who they were looking for.
The police appealed to the public by sharing info about the ring last week. The names were published but a date on the ring was kept private in order to verify the true owners.
After finding the real Noel and Stephanie – police learned they’re celebrating a milestone anniversary this year, according to an RCMP press release.
“The wedding band was lost in the channel 17 years ago and this year will be their 20th anniversary,” Penticton RCMP media liaison Const. Dayne Lyons said in the press release.
