PENTICTON - Penticton RCMP were successful in catching up with some thieves in Penticton recently but are still looking for a stolen bike.

A Penticton homeowner called police on Feb. 22 after seeing suspects attempting to break into their vehicle on their residence surveillance system.

Officers patrolled the area and found a nearby house with its garage door open, along with a vehicle in the driveway with a door open.

Police woke the residents who noted two bikes and some other property had been stolen from the garage.

A further search by RCMP resulted in a roadside stop that uncovered a vehicle with three occupants that also contained some of the stolen property.

The three were arrested on charges of possession of stolen property and the vehicle seized. The three were later released on conditions with an upcoming court date.

One bike was found in the 2000 block of Evergreen Drive but the second one remains outstanding. It is believed to be in the same area as the recovered bike, Cpl. Chris Manseau said in a press release issued today, Feb. 22.

The missing bike is described as a green Giant brand "Rein" model.

Anyone with information regarding this theft is asked to contact the Penticton RCMP at 778-290-2929, or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
