RCMP

KAMLOOPS – A woman hit by a pickup crossing Columbia Street in Lower Sahali this morning suffered minor injuries and the driver has been given a ticket.

RCMP say the 32-year-old woman was crossing in the crosswalk near Sahali Terrace around 8 a.m., July 27, when she was hit.

Westbound traffic stopped to let the woman cross, but she has hit by the pickup driver who failed to stop in time in the left lane, police say in a media release.

The woman was hit by the truck’s side mirror. She was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The driver, who remained at the scene, was given a ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian.
