Passenger in taxi killed in crash on Highway 97 near Clinton

A crash between a taxi and a delivery truck on Highway 97 near Clinton Tuesday claimed the life of the passenger in the taxi.

The crash between the northbound taxi and the southbound truck happened at approximately 12:42 p.m. June 4, just south of Clinton, according to an RCMP media release.

The taxi driver was taken to hospital and remains in critical condition. The truck driver was also injured and taken to hospital.

Members of the RCMP Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service, Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement and the Ministry of Transportation are investigating the cause of the crash.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or anyone with dash cam footage is asked to call the BC Highway Patrol in Kamloops at 250-828-3111 ext. 2 and refer to file 2024-1918.
