Gardeners in Kamloops and the Okanagan have been busy designing and beautifying their backyards and gardens oases this month, creating perfect places to relax.
Kamloops resident Bryan Koll lives in a mobile home with a limited space to design, but he got creative laying out artificial turf and using pots and raised beds for his flowers and vegetables.
“I painted the raised beds in black and red for an Asian flare and added Chinese dragons I like, so I just kind of rolled with it,” he said.

He has a couple of smoke bushes and three black lace plants that are starting to flower, yew trees and a cascading fountain. There are pots full of blooming flowers and a trough on a shed for growing carrots in.
“Whether I’m working or relaxing out here, it’s peaceful and my ‘go to’ spot to enjoy.”
