One in custody, one in hospital after shooting in Kelowna

There is no danger to the public after one person was shot in Kelowna and another was taken into custody.

A disturbance between two people was reported at 1:39 a.m. today, March 27, according to a release from the Kelowna RCMP.

Officers attended the 1700 block of Chapman Place in Kelowna and found a man laying in a hallway suffering from a gunshot wound.

Emergency Health Services was called and the victim was taken to the hospital where they are undergoing treatment, police say.

Another individual who was located at the residence was taken into custody without incident.

“The two individuals are familiar with one another and there is no danger to public safety,” the release says.

More information will be released as it becomes available.
