Okanagan teased by sunshine this week

OKANAGAN - A mild start to the week in the valley will give way to more seasonable temperatures by mid-week, according to Environment Canada.

Kelowna will enjoy bright and sunny skies today, Nov. 21, and tomorrow. Although there is a 30 per cent chance of rain today, high temperatures of 9 Celsius are comfortably above normal for late November.

Vernon residents will also enjoy mild temperatures with highs of 7 C to 8 C for the early part of the week, but the sunshine will be mixed with clouds for Monday and Tuesday.

The clouds will hold court throughout the week in Penticton, however, temperatures will be similar to the rest of the valley.

That unseasonably mild weather won’t last, however. High temperatures will drop to a more seasonal 6 C, and those autumnal rains will make a determined comeback — a 60 to 70 per cent chance of showers for Wednesday and Thursday throughout the region. Overnight lows will hover between 0 C and 2 C for most of the week.
