KAMLOOPS - A big development near the Red Bridge in downtown Kamloops is moving forward.
The 70-unit residential project, which includes commercial space, is moving to the public hearing phase. Current plans describe the structure, dubbed the Marquesse of Lorne, as a pair of six storey buildings with commercial space on the ground floor and underground parking.
The project is located on the 600 block of Lorne Street, a couple blocks away from the Sandman Centre. Currently the land is unoccupied with a parking lot adjoining. It would be next to, and similar in style to, the Pioneer Landing complex.
City council approved taking the plan to public hearing at its meeting yesterday, March 7.
