Even if you didn't snag tickets to the Tragically Hip's final tour stop in Kingston, Ont., there's an array of viewing parties catering to every type of fan.

Besides watching the show from the comfort of your own home on Saturday night, a countless number of community spaces, restaurants, bars and arenas are throwing their own Hip tributes centred around the broadcast of the "Man Machine Poem" tour finale at the Rogers K-Rock Centre.

"The Tragically Hip: A National Celebration" begins at 8:30 p.m. ET on CBC across its TV, radio and digital platforms, but celebrations kick off across the country at various times throughout the day.

Here's a selection of unique Tragically Hip events happening across the continent:

— Last Concert Under the Constellations (Bobcaygeon, Ont.)

Immortalized in the Hip's Juno-winning song, this quaint town in Ontario's cottage country plans to close its main stretch on Bolton Street starting at 7 p.m. ET and show the concert on a large screen. The evening will feature local musicians as the opening act and several business owners have committed to donate proceeds from part of the evening to various cancer-research charities.

— Encana Events Centre (Dawson Creek, B.C.)

A giant LCD screen has been rented for this venue, which is BYOC for the evening: bring your own chair. Organizers hope the addition of lawn chairs — or even couches — on the general admission floor will help evoke a music-festival mood, says marketing manager Brent Hodson. Other event highlights include a silent auction with photographs taken when the band played the venue in 2011. Proceeds will go to the Gord Downie Fund for Brain Cancer Research at Toronto's Sunnybrook Hospital.

— Horseshoe Tavern (Toronto)

Visit the bar with the checkerboard floors that Downie sings so passionately about in "Bobcaygeon" as he recalls that unforgettable "night in Toronto." The Hip sharpened their skills as a young band in the mid-1980s at the venerable venue, which has news articles about the band plastered on the walls. A large screen will be setup on the famed Horseshoe stage in the backroom.

— Queen Victoria Park (Niagara Falls, Ont.)

Two screens will project the concert with panoramic views of the American and Canadian Horseshoe Falls as a backdrop. The Niagara Parks Commission, which is organizing the event, encourages viewers to bring their own blankets.

— Hey Man, Thanks: A Celebration of Gord Downie & The Tragically Hip (Halifax)

Crowds are expected to gather in the city's downtown for an afternoon of Hip-themed entertainment including live musical performances, face painting for the kids, and a "Raise One for Gord" video booth to record well wishes for the band. Activities begin at 2 p.m. and lead up to the CBC broadcast.

— Riviera Theatre (North Tonawanda, NY)

Home of a Mighty Wurlitzer organ, this historical movie house built in 1926 is one of several U.S. venues showing the concert — but it comes with a twist. An organist will warm up the crowd with a 30-minute set, says co-director Gary Rouleau. The theatre is a short drive across the border from Niagara Falls, Ont., and Russell says it counts many of its staff members as fans of the band. Beer, wine, soda and popcorn will be served.
