Dog sledding teams are gearing up at area ski resorts for the season, and all furry paws are on deck ready to mush through the snow.
Candle Creek Dog Sled Tours at Big White Ski Resort near Kelowna and Mountain Man Adventures at Sun Peaks Resort near Kamloops are already gearing up for a big, snowy season.
“Dog sledding tours are a great way to get out on an exciting adventure while enjoying the breathtaking scenery Big White has to offer,” according to Big White's website.
The Canadian sled dogs at Big White have been mushing through its famous backcountry for more than a decade.

Candle Creek Kennels begins every orientation with an introduction to the dogs, the sled and harnessing process before heading out on the trails.
To get to Candle Creek Kennels from the village centre take Lara’s gondola to Happy Valley, turn left and cross the bridge into the Adventure Park where you will see the dog sledding cabin next to the washroom cabin.
To drive there, park in the Happy Valley Parking lot, walk towards the gondola and then continue across the bridge into the Adventure Park.
For the 13th year, Mountain Man Dog Sledding invites guests to “live the dream of feeling the raw power of Alaskan huskies pulling the sled through the Canadian winter wonderland that is the backcountry of Sun Peaks Mountain Resort.”
Guides point out signs of wildlife while guests wind through the trails.
“We start off by showing you how the dogs live, and then they show you how much they love to run,” reads the website.
