Multiple cabins and trailers were destroyed in a fire that started along Westside Road yesterday afternoon.

Firefighters battled the blaze June 4. A large plume of smoke and flames could be seen on Okanagan Indian Band lands on the north end of Westside Road.

Two cabins and two trailers were destroyed in the blaze, and a third cabin was also severely damaged and is likely lost, said Mike Fotheringham, executive director with the OKIB, via email.

"Our crews attended immediately and the cabins were already fully engulfed in flames," he said. The Armstrong-Spallumcheen Volunteer Fire Department was also called to the scene for assistance.

"The fire was taken care of rather quickly," he said.

No word was given on the cause of the blaze or if people have been displaced because of the fire.
