Mixed bag of weather this week in Okanagan

Sunny skies are expected today, Jan. 28, 2019 in the Okanagan.

OKANAGAN - Wind chill will play a factor at the start of the week in the Okanagan with flurries expected to start Wednesday.

Environment Canada says to expect a mainly sunny day today, Jan. 28, with a high of 1 Celsius. Expect increasing cloud this evening with fog patches developing after midnight and a low of -6 C. With a 15 km/h wind, the wind chill will be -3 C in the evening and -8 C overnight.

The forecast calls for the fog to dissipate tomorrow morning with sunshine in the afternoon. The brisk wind continues producing a wind chill of -8 C in the morning and -3 C in the afternoon. Cloudy periods and a low of -6 C are expected overnight.

On Wednesday the weather office is predicting a mix of sun and cloud, a 30 per cent chance of flurries with a high of 0 C. The flurries could continue overnight with a low of -1 C.

For Thursday you can expect cloudy skies with a 40 per cent chance of showers and a high of 0 C. The showers will turn to a 40 per cent chance of flurries overnight with a low of -1 C.

Friday will be cloudy with a 60 per cent chance of showers or flurries and a high of 2 C. The flurries are expected to continue overnight with a low of -2.

Normal temperatures at this time of year in the Okanagan are highs of -1 C and lows of -7 C.
