KAMLOOPS - Police found the body of a missing student who drowned in the North Thompson River earlier this morning.
According to a press release, a 23-year-old South Asian man went missing yesterday when he was swept away in the river. On May 4, police returned to the location where the man went missing at 10:50 a.m. and found his body.
No criminal activity is suspected at this time, although the B.C. Coroners Office has been called to take over the investigation.
The victim's family lives in India and police are currently in touch with them.
