B.C. mom in-law charged with second-degree murder, remains in custody: police

PENTICTON, B.C. - Mounties in British Columbia's south Okanagan say the mother in-law of a dead woman has been charged with second-degree murder.

RCMP Sgt. Rick Delabuur of the Penticton RCMP says 26-year-old Roxanne Louie lived in Vancouver but returned to the south Okanagan to visit family and friends over the holidays.

He says Louie's family reported her missing Jan. 4 after she did not show up for her flight back to Vancouver and she is now confirmed dead.

Delabuur says 65-year-old Grace Robotti is charged with second-degree murder.

He says her brother, 61-year-old Pier Robotti, has been charged with indignity to a human body and being an accessory after the fact.

Louie leaves behind a three-year-old son. The Robottis appeared in court Monday and Delabuur says they remain in custody. (CKFR)
