A 32-year-old Kelowna man whose vehicle was found abandoned in Vernon last October has been found dead.

Dillon Angle went missing Oct. 19, 2022. A week later he had not been in communication with his family, which was unusual and police put out a missing person alert.

RCMP said in a media release issued today, Feb. 8, it received a report of what appeared to be human remains in the Adventure Bay area in Vernon Jan. 25. Investigators have now confirmed the remains to belong to Angle.

No criminality is suspected in the case, according to RCMP.

RCMP had said earlier Angle lived a high-risk lifestyle which includes addiction issues.

The B.C. Coroners Service is now conducting an independent and concurrent investigation to determine how, where, when and by what means Angle came to an unexpected death.

"The Vernon North Okanagan RCMP would like to extend our sincerest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased," RCMP said in the release.
