Mild, wet weekend in store for Kamloops

KAMLOOPS - Temperatures will be above normal through the weekend and into next week in Kamloops.

Environment Canada is calling for a mix of sun and cloud today, Jan. 4, with an east wind at 30 km/h gusting to 50 and a high of 8 Celsius. The gusty wind will continue overnight under a partly cloudy sky with the low down to 2 C.

Expect a mainly cloudy day tomorrow with a 40 per cent chance of showers in the late afternoon. The wind will be east at 20 km/h with a high of 5 C. Tomorrow night the forecast calls for periods of rain or snow with a low of 3 C.

On Sunday, expect periods of rain and a high of 5 C with the precipitation turning to snow overnight. The mercury will drop to 1 C.

For back to work on Monday, the weather office is calling for showers and a high of 5 C with a 60 per cent chance of flurries overnight and a low of 0 C.

Normal temperatures this time of year in Kamloops are highs of -1 C and lows of -8 C.
