Prices at the gas pump continue to slide in B.C. with a station in the southern Interior selling a litre of regular below 65 cents a litre.

GasBuddy.com lists the Super Save gas station at Nicola Avenue and Margaret Street in Merritt as having the lowest price for a litre of regular gas in British Columbia today, April 17, at 63.9 cents per litre.

Next in line for the cheapest gas prices in the province is Prince George where prices range from 63.9 to 73.9 cents per litre.

Prices have dropped around five cents per litre from the end of March in Kamloops and the Okanagan.

Here are today’s prices at the pumps supplied by GasBuddy.com:

  • Kamloops 77.9 to 82.9 cents per litre
  • Vernon 85.9 to 86.9 cents per litre
  • Kelowna 89.9 cents per litre
  • Penticton  90.9 cents per litre

The Alberta community of Walsh, which claimed the lowest price in Alberta for a litre of fuel, at 52.9 on March 30, continues to have the lowest price in that province with the a Petro-Canada selling a litre of regular gas for 34.9 cents yesterday.

That’s slightly higher than the cheapest gas available in Washington State, where an American gallon of fuel is selling for U.S. 1.25, or 33 cents a litre at the Safeway gas bar in Cle Elum.

As of April 15, the price for a barrel of Western Canadian Select crude fell below the $5 mark to $4.71, less than the cost of a specialty coffee.
