Rogelio Butch Bagabuyo is being charged for storing a body in a plastic bin, related to a suspicious death investigation in Kamloops.

A body was found in a vehicle in the Dufferin neighbourhood in Kamloops, where police were called last week to investigate suspicious activity. Officers found a body in a vehicle on Monterey Place.

Bagabuyo, 54, was scheduled to appear virtually for a bail hearing at Kamloops Law Courts this morning, March 21, and was held in custody, according to court documents.

According to the documents, a charge for interference with a dead body was approved, March 18.

Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Const. Crystal Evelyn confirmed the charge is related, adding that the investigation remains a "suspicious death" and not a homicide as of today.

Police are also looking for information related to a white 2020 GMC Budget rental van with license plate PJ9131 as the investigation continues.
