Man arrested in Shuswap for threatening to kill a bailiff

FILE PHOTO

A man was arrested in the small Shuswap community of Blind Bay yesterday after waving a replica handgun and threatening to kill a bailiff and a neighbour.

Salmon Arm RCMP and members of the heavily-armed emergency response team responded to the home in Blind Bay yesterday, June 26, according to an RCMP media release.

Police didn't say what time they arrived at the home or when the man was arrested. RCMP said he was "very quickly" apprehended when he tried to getaway in a vehicle.

He was carrying a replica handgun and 9mm ammunition, RCMP said.

Jesse Lee Woodsford, born in 1980, is facing four criminal charges related to the alleged threats.

He's scheduled to appear in Kamloops court today to answer to charges of uttering threats toward two people, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and breaching court conditions for carrying the handgun.
