A Penticton man was arrested Sunday morning for breaking the front window of the Kelowna RCMP detachment.
Police say the 30-year-old fled on foot after the window was broken and refused to stop when police intercepted him on Ellis Street, south of Queensway Ave. Officers say the man then wrapped a studded belt around his fist and refused to follow directions, so was taken to the ground.
While police had the man down, they say he started complaining he was having difficulty breathing. He was sent to Kelowna General Hospital for evaluation but was soon released back to police. He will be released from custody to appear in court at a later date on charges of mischief.
