Man arrested after barricading himself in Penticton home

FILE PHOTO

A man who posed a high risk to police barricaded himself in a home in Penticton, and was eventually arrested.

Penticton RCMP and the Southeast District Emergency Response team located a man with several outstanding warrants at a residence in the 1000-block of Government Street on Nov. 6, according to a press release from police.

Police said the man posed a high risk so the Emergency Response Team assisted in the arrest.

The man barricaded himself in the home, and officers made several attempts to get him to come out.

After the man refused to come out, police used various tactics to arrest the man without incident.

The man is still in custody waiting for a court appearance, but since there is still an active investigation RCMP will not be releasing more details at this time.
