VERNON - The man accused of killing an Armstrong mother of two will go before a judge for a preliminary inquiry this fall.
Logan Scott, 31, of Salmon Arm was charged with manslaughter and theft under $5,000 in August 2014, nine months after Jillian McKinty, 27, was found dead in her Armstrong home.
At the time of Scott’s arrest, Vernon RCMP said the circumstances around McKinty’s death were suspicious in nature, leading them to call in the Southeast District Major Crimes Unit.
In her obituary, McKinty is described as a loving mother to her twin boys. The Askews Foods employee was well-known and well-loved in the Armstrong community.
Scott’s preliminary inquiry, set to begin Oct. 20 at the Vernon Courthouse, will determine whether there is enough evidence for him to stand trial.
