Male released from custody without charge in Lee Creek suspicious death investigation

LEE CREEK - A man taken into custody in relation to a suspicious death in Lee Creek has been released without charge while police continue to investigate.

Officers attended a home in the 2500 block of Squilax-Anglemont Road to follow up on a report of shots fired Saturday evening, Nov. 28. After arriving on scene, police found a woman’s body.

RCMP spokesperson Dan Moskaluk says the 47-year-old woman’s death is being treated as suspicious.

Moskaluk says the woman resided at the residence and knew the man taken into custody. RCMP has not disclosed the nature of the relationship.

An autopsy of the woman’s body is set to begin today, Dec. 1.
