Woman’s body found after shooting reported in Shuswap

CHASE – Investigators are treating the death of a woman in Shuswap Saturday night as suspicious after a reported shooting incident.

RCMP were called to a report of a possible shooting at home in the 2500 block of Squilax Anglemont Road in Lee Creek, west of Chase at around 9:46 p.m., Nov. 28, according to a media release.

The body of a woman was found at the home and investigators from the RCMP Southeast District Major Crimes Unit are treating the death as suspicious.

“An adult male remains in police custody following his arrest at the residence last night,” Cpl. Dan Moskaluk says in the release. “Investigators are continuing their efforts to locate and advise next of kin.”

Moskaluk says both the RCMP and the B.C. Coroners Service were on the scene today as the investigation continues.

“No public safety issues exist as a result of this matter,” he says. “Investigators are unable to disclose any further details with respect to this investigation at this time.”
